Wolves sign Matheus Nunes for 50 Million Euros, know contract details

According to widespread reports in the English media, it is believed that Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge to sign Matheus Nunes from Sporting Club on a club-record fee with even the most reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming the news.

This transfer saga has been going on for the past few weeks as various clubs in the Premier League like West Ham, Liverpool and Manchester City were interested to sign the midfielder.

But now it is reported that Wolves have beaten these clubs and they have already agreed on personal terms with the player and his club as they are going to sign him for an astronomical fee of 50 Million Euros.

Matheus Nunes would be the third summer signing for the Premier League side as he’ll join the list of Gonzalo Guedes and Nathan Collins who joined Bruno Lage’s team from Villarreal and Burnley respectively.

The Brazilian midfielder has gained the attention of various top clubs throughout Europe since Pep Guardiola highlighted that he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. The player is expected to travel to England shortly in order to complete his medicals with Wolves. And once that medical is passed and completed, he’ll be ready to sign a 5-year contract with the club.

From this season onwards, Bruno Lage has an abundance of options in his midfield as Nunes together with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves could form an outstanding midfield. This does not end there as the coach even has the likes of Guedes and Collins at the bench, and they too could be impactful for the team. With this move likely to be confirmed in the next couple of days, to would be interesting to see how the Brazilian International would compete in the best league in the world.
