Pro Kabaddi: Bharat Hooda scores 23 raid points against Delhi; becomes top raider of PKL9
Kabaddi is a raider’s game and Bharat Hooda of Bengaluru Bulls has proven this again. The young raider picked up a total of 23 points in the game to win it for his team almost single handedly.
He stormed the defense of Dabang Delhi to give his side a much-needed win. A victory that keeps them in the hunt of a top-2 finish in the points table.
Bharat Hooda becomes the second highest point scorer in a single game in PKL9.
Bharat Hooda completes 200 raid points in PKL9
Bengaluru Bulls and Bharat didn’t have the best of start to the game. They were unable to get off the trenches in the first half. And after being inflicted an all out early on, there seemed to be just one way traffic in the game.
Delhi at 15-minute mark was leading by 11 points at 19-8. Everyone thought that the game was over for them when they got all out for a second time.
At the end of first half the score was 16-25, courtesy to a super raid by Vikash Kandola. But Bharat was nowhere close to his best potential in the game.
Things changed in the second half though, as Bharat started things well by completing his 200 points in the PKL9. Still, Delhi managed to keep a strong hold on the game.
They inflicted another all out on the Bengaluru Bulls. Yet, with single points Bharat kept them in touching distance. He even completed his 13th Super 10 in PKL9.
Bharat Hooda emerged as hero in second half
With 8 minutes on the clock remaining, it seemed as if the efforts would go in vain. That Bengaluru Bulls would suffer a loss by a gigantic margin.
Bharat Hooda believed otherwise though. He came storming into the raids in the last five minutes or so to cause carnage. Picking multiple points in raid after raid, he brought his team closer to equaling the margin.
On different occasions he went into super tackle situations to bring crucial points. As a result, Bengaluru incurred another all-out in the dying ambers of the game to establish a lead which they were able to defend.
The game ended at the score of 52-49 in the favor of Bengaluru Bulls.
Bharat Hooda was the hero of the game. With his 23 points, 75% of which came in the second half, he won the game for his team. This performance also saw him become the highest raid point scorer in PKL9. He now has a total of 219 points to his name.
With this victory Bengaluru Bulls go back to the second position on the table.
