Liverpool reach Pre-Agreement deal with Argentina’s Enzo Fernandez

According to widespread reports in the English media, Liverpool football club have initiated talks with Benfica and Argentinean midfielder Enzo Fernandez for a potential move in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has made five appearances and scored one goal for his nation in the FIFA World cup and has helped Lionel Scaloni’s side to reach the tournament’s semi-finals. There has been no doubt that Enzo has been one of the rising stars in this year’s competition due to his sensational performances and due to that many clubs around Europe are interested to sign him with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and now Liverpool.

Liverpool likely to sign Enzo Fernandes from Benfica

However, he still has 4 and a half years left on his deal with Benfica and hence signing him in January would be difficult for Liverpool as the Portuguese side would easily skyrocket the asking price for him. In the past, The Reds have recently brought in players from Portugal like Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez from Porto and Benfica respectively.

It is reported that Enzo has a release clause of 120 Million Euros in his contract which is simply impossible for the Premier League club to pay it, but if the Argentina talent forces a ove then Benfica might sell him for a lower price. All in all, it would be interesting to see what happens further.
