Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich took only 68 seconds in Canada’s second group game after missing the game-changing penalty against Belgium on Sunday at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Davies scored Canada’s first goal of the FIFA World Cup, putting the country ahead of Croatia’s Luka Modric-led squad at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Incidentally, Davies’ powerful header, which beat Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic inside the opening two minutes of the game, was the fastest goal of the Qatar World Cup.

Davies opened the scoring for Canada in the second minute, latching onto a superb cross from Taejon Buchanan, as Modric-led Croatia lost the first goal of the World Cup match in just 68 seconds.
