Watch: Emiliano Martinez lineup his wall to block De Gea’s view to help Lucas Digne score from freekick

Over the past two years we have seen Emilio Martinez do crazy things in goal keeping. From saving penalties in high intensity knockout games, to encouraging his team to win the game, he has done it all.

But on Sunday a new side of him came into everyone’s view when he assisted his team score a free kick against Manchester United.

The event took place in the 10th minute of the game when Villa was awarded a freekick. It was from a dangerous position and Lucas Digne seemed certain to take it.

That is when Emiliano Martinez showed his presence of mind to help his team score. The Argentine goal keeper left his goal and came to his team’s aid by adjusting their wall before Digne freekick.

He asked his wall to move in a certain manner to block the opposing keeper’s view. What followed next was a peach of a freekick for Villa and Digne scored.

In 11th minute of the game, Villa doubled their lead against Manchester United.

In the first game of his career with Aston Villa Unai Emery registered an emphatic victory over Manchester United. His team thumped Manchester United 3-1 in the Premier League.

Leon Bailey scored the first goal for his team in 7th minute to give his team a lead. It was soon doubled by Digne in 11th minute, and match was sealed in 50th minute by Jacob Ramsey.

Manchester United managed to get one back owing to an own goal. But they never looked a threatening side on the pitch. And in the end ended up losing 3-1 to Aston Villa.
