Pique farewell match: FC Barcelona thump Almeria 2-0 in La Liga

This weekend FC Barcelona hosted newly promoted side Almeria at the Spotify Camp Nou and this game was all about Gerard Pique as he was playing at his home ground for the very last time.
As soon as the game began, every Barca supporter in the world wanted the Spanish defender to score in his last match and that moment almost arrived cause Barca got a penalty in the first half.
The referee pointed to the spot and everyone in the stadium started to chant Pique’s name so that he takes the penalty but due to his team leadership and personality, he thought of the team and gave the penalty to Robert Lewandowski who then couldn’t covert it into a goal.

However later on then in the second half, Barca scored 2 goals courtesy of Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie De Jong. But Xavi’s team also missed a huge variety of crucial chances cause if they had converted them, they could easily won by 5-0.
Then came the part that was very emotional for every Barcelona fan cause at the 84th-minute mark Christensen was coming on the field and that too he was replacing Barca’s number 3, Gerard Pique.
Then the club legend was leaving the field for the very last time and he went over to every single player out on the field and gave them a hug. It was clearly seen how emotional he was and it was like he didn’t want to leave the pitch as was taking a lot of time but in the end, all good things come to an end.
After the match, Pique was given a lap of honour by his teammates and he indeed walked around the Camp Nou to applaud the fans and he thanked them for their support.
In the end,he gave a farewell speech to all of the fans and he indeed said that he’ll forever remain a Barca supporter and that one day he’ll be back at the club. That was the sensational Gerard Pique.
