There has been some surprising development after the AGM of BCCI. And it has been reported that Sourav Ganguly has decided to step down as the President of BCCI.

Earlier last month some amendments to the law were made by the supreme court. These changes allowed a serving president of BCCI to be re-elected for another term.

However, the current president Sourav Ganguly chose not to exercise this right of his. As a result, the former Indian captain is all set to step down from the position.

Furthermore, Ganguly has also decided to opt out of the upcoming elections.

This leaves a huge hole at the right top of the tree of BCCI. And the questions are looming large over who will be the successor to Ganguly?

According to some reports by Dainik Jagran, Roger Binny is the favorite to the chair.

In the midst of all these reports, it is also reported that Jay Shah is more than likely to retain his post as the BCCI’s secretary.

The 12th of October has been decided as the deadline date for the state boards. And there are some surprising representatives from different states.

For starters Kerela Satate Cricket Association has put forward Roger Binny as their representative. He replaces their former representative Santosh Menon.

Similarly, Avishek Dalmia is also a major omission from the electoral representatives.

Crizbuzz has reported that 35 out of 38 units have named their representatives. But Railways, Services, and Universities have asked for more time.

The date for the final submission however remains to be 12th of October.
