One of the most anticipated Test series of the year is upon us, as Indian team will take on the English at home. This series will be India’s third in the latest cycle of World Test Championship 2023-25, but the first that they will be playing at home. Hence, the anticipation will be at all time high.
India have been formidable at home in the last 12 years. The last test series they lost at home dates back to 2012, how ever, it came against the same opponent they are going to face in the series starting from 25th of January.
England with the might of Alister Cook and Kevin Pietersen were able to produce a miraculous result in India, during their last outing. In 2012, it was their might, that saw the Indian giants fall to their knees and defeated 2-1 in a home test. Since then, things have not been the same.
The English team has toured India twice since 2012 and on both occasions had to face a very embarrassing defeat. Let alone the series, sometimes they found it almost impossible to win sessions and match. Therefore, India will be looking to continue their domination at home and bismirch the English side once again.
Ben Stokes and his side on the other hand will be looking for a turn around. With a new coach and new approach to test cricket in the form of Bazball they will be looking to challenge India for the title.
