PKL: Pradeep Narwal and Surendra Gill shine in UP Yoddhas’ 36-29 victory over Bengaluru Bulls

In the second match of the Super Sunday, high flying UP Yoddhas took on Bengaluru bulls in a riveting encounter.

Both the teams came into the game after suffering a defeat in their previous fixtures. Hence, everyone knew that it was going to be a high intensity encounter. And the raiders from both the teams ensured the same.

UP Yoddhas started the game on a high note. They accumulated 26 points in the first half itself. While Bengaluru could only get 12 points.

At that point it felt as if it was going to be a landslide victory for UP. But the Bengaluru team didn’t give up and made a comeback in the second half.

At one point they were leading the game by a huge margin and everyone thought that they would put the game to bed. That is when the most successful raider of PKL history decided to step up.

Pradeep Narwal, who was playing second fiddle to Surendra Singh in first half, came out of his trenches. He ended the game with 14 points to his name. Same as Surendra Gill.

Gill also achieved a personal milestone in the game. He completed 300 raid points in the Pro Kabaadi League. He won the coolest player of the game award.

Pradeep Narwal was rewarded with the Player of the match award for his performance.

Bengaluru Bulls lacked composure in defence and gave away points in a  flurry. Their raider Vikas Kandola picked up 12 points in raids, but nobody else could assist him either in raids or in defense.

As a result, Bengaluru Bulls suffered a loss by the margin of 7 points when the game came to an end at 36-29 in UP Yoddhas’ favour.          

UP Yoddhas rise to the top half of the table with this victory. They now sit on the fourth position with 12 points from their four games.
