According to various reports in the English media, Manchester United are studying the possibility of signing Ajax’s winger Antony this summer. He is another Brazilian that the Red Devils are trying to sign after they successfully signed Casemiro recently.

But this deal may be difficult to complete as Ajax have already rejected bids of 50,60 and even 80 Million Euros for the winger. Still, United are not walking away from this deal are considering offering 90 Million Euros in order to sign him.

Antony uncertain about Axax future

It is also reported that Antony may not be involved in the next game with his club as he is currently training separately due to uncertainty over his future.

Ajax have quoted a price that they want between 80-100 Million Euros for Antony so the Red Devils may have a chance to agree on a price in the middle of their demands. But the Premier League side have just signed Casemiro who is a 5-time Champions League winner on a deal which is worth 70 Million Euros, so they have spent a lot of cash on the midfielder.

Hence, they need to decide if they could really sign the winger at such an astronomical value and they even to analyse if he is worth that much. But United have a history of spending big fee on players with the likes of Maguire, Sancho, Pogba and many more in the list, so if indeed they do manage to sign him , it won’t exactly be a record-breaking transfer.

But Ten Hag does not have many options at the wing position and there aren’t any good players on the market in that area cause as soon as Dembele and Raphinha signed with Barcelona, the clubs that have good wingers raised their prices for them.

So if Ten Hag wants to sign the player that he once coached, his club need to spend big in order to sign him. Antony is just 22 years old so he is just entering the prime years of his career so United have the perfect opportunity to unleash the best out of him. T

his deal could even benefit the Brazilian as if he performs well at a club like United, he would definitely get into the World Cup squad for Brazil and he might even beat Vinicius Jr for the starting spot in the team. All in all, it would be interesting to see how this transfer saga develops.
