Graham Potter Responds to Aubameyang’s MLS Transfer Rumors

Amidst reports that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could leave Chelsea to make move for the MLS, Graham Potter has stated that there was nothing to report.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been having a rough time at the Stamford Bridge as he had been left of the 25-man squad for the club for Champions League.

These limited opportunities provided to the 33-year-old striker had led to the waves of speculation of him flying to America in search of better opportunities at LAFC as he has already played for both Chelsea and Barcelona in the European leagues in the current season.

Graham Potter on Aubameyang’s uncertain future

However, Graham Potter had downplayed any of these rumours when asked by the reporters about Aubameyang being lured away towards America and potential Chelsea exit.

Potter stated that there was nothing to report and that Pierre has been training with the squad this week, and training well. He also stated that Pierre had been supporting his teammates while he has been here, and been ding what he needed to do.

Aubameyang has made only featured in 17 matches for the Blues, within which he has three goals to his name ever since his return from FC Barcelona.

When asked for a fitness check about his squad, Graham Potter stated that Wesley Fofana had been training with the squad and that Denis Zakaria had been training as well, and that although they faced a setback with Raheem Sterling and that he was doubtful, Mateo Kovacic had started training with the team.

However, Potter also clarified that it will be a little too early for Mateo Kovacic while Chelsea are preparing for their clash against the Hammers who are ranked ninth in the Premier league table.
