Satnam Singh: The Trailblazer – From Basketball to Wrestling in India’s Sports Scene
Satnam Singh, a remarkable athlete who has excelled in both basketball and wrestling, was born in India. Satnam Singh’s athletic talent was evident from a young age. In 2015, Singh made history by becoming the first Indian player to be drafted into the NBA, picked by the Dallas Mavericks.
NBA Career Cut Short
Despite his success on the court, Singh’s time in the NBA was short-lived. Singh participated in the 2015 NBA Summer League for the Mavericks. However, he only had a limited run with their G-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, where he appeared in just 27 games over two seasons before being released. Return to India and Finding a New Path

Wrestling Debut and Rise to Fame
In September 2021, Singh signed with AEW and made his televised debut on the April 13th edition of Dynamite. Despite the fans’ initial negative reaction, he made a huge impact by attacking Samoa Joe, revealing his allegiance with Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. Singh’s rage was on full display at AEW’s Battle Of The Belts II. He unleashed his anger on Jonathan Gresham and Dalton Castle after their match for the ROH World Championship. Singh has formed a relationship with Lethal and Dutt. This could result in a potential appearance in Tony Khan’s Ring Of Honor in the near future.
