Xavi and the club have been completely supportive of the Spanish International and were always on the path to renewing but due to his age and a busy transfer window, his renewal got delayed.
The La Liga side wanted to renew him for 5-6 years but due to his age, they couldn’t offer him such a lengthy contract, however once he turned 18 the negotiations restarted and the club was able to reach an agreement as well.
