Diego Costa all set to make Premier League return; likely to join Wolves days after deadline day

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa makes his Premier league return as he is set to have a medical for an astonishing move to Wolves.

The Spanish International is going to join wolves on a free transfer as a surprise move for the summer transfer window. Costa is expected in England today in order to undergo medical tests with Wolves. It’s the key step to decide on free transfer as a one year deal was already agreed.

Wolves were looking for a new striker since Kalajdzic’s ACL injury on his debut. The 33 year old’s contract is valid until June 2023 and the medical is scheduled to be on Tuesday. The decision on the free transfer is set to be made by wolves in the next 24/48 hours.

Diego’s Transfer and contract details

The key element in the transfer is the medical which is scheduled on 6th September as the Spanish striker has not played a competitive game for his club Atletico Mineiro since January 2022 and has been a free agent since the same period.

Costa’s time at Mineiro

Since Suarez joined Atletico Madrid the squad was stocked  with attackers so the Spanish international had to join the Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro in August last summer transfer window. Since his move the striker has gone out of the radar in world football and had not played a game for his new club since January 2022.This is the reason why Diego’s transfer is delayed because of medical and fitness reasons, the Player has been a free agent for over 8 months and has now finally agreed a deal with Wolves .

The player was nicknamed as El cholo at chelsea .The 33 year old has shown the world football about his potential in one of the finest leagues , premier league being one of them . The striker used to play for Chelsea as a starter and was an absolute beast. The Spanish star used to bully premier league defenders and can be a goal threat as well. The former Chelsea striker has 52 goals in 89 appearances, with 56 wins and 18 losses in total from season 2014-17 under Jose Mourinho and Conte.

Wolves decision will be made in the next 24/48 hours after the medical .
