It has been a sensational transfer window this summer and the deadline day did not disappoint, cause it was indeed confirmed that the Premier League giants Liverpool have completed the signing of Arthur Melo from Juventus on a season-long loan deal.
Jurgen Klopp wanted a midfielder all summer long and maybe he is not the best choice but to get him on a loan deal is surely not bad business by the club. The team needed to strengthen their options in midfield cause many of the players are injured and in their recent game against Newcastle the club captain Jordon Henderson also got a hamstring injury. So that meant that Klopp really had to get the deal done on the deadline day.
Liverpool currently have 5 of their midfielders out due to injury and for various reasons with the likes of Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Oxlade Chamberlain and Henderson in the list. However, despite all of the injuries, the club were not hoping to sign a player cause once the injured players are back, it doesn’t look like they’ll need anyone.
Arthur Melo contract details
But Arthur Melo on loan is what they decided to do which is a brilliant short-term option for them and in reality, they needed this signing cause Klopp’s side has just 2 of their first 5 games in the new season.
Jurgen Klopp only had Fabinho who is a top-quality and experienced midfielder in the side and apart from him, he had to rely on the likes of Harvey Elliot and Fabio Carvalho to improve his team which he wasn’t expecting to do. He was expecting them to improve gradually but now these players have to be in the starting lineup because of the injuries at the club.
Now that Arthur has joined the team, he would surely improve the side and he would also look at the World Cup cause if he performs well in the best league in the world, it is highly likely that he would get into Brazil’s squad for the Cup. All in all, Liverpool have certainly signed a player who could turn their situation around and next summer they could sign their desired choice who is Jude Bellingham.
