Tottenham Hotspur Sign Manor Solomon in Free Transfer From Shakhtar Donetsk

Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur have finally completed the transfer of Manor Solomon as a free transfer for a contract which will take Solomon with the English club for five years.

Manor Solomon to Tottenham Hotspur done deal

Manor Solomon had been busy the previous season with Fulham on loan from his original club Shakhtar Donetsk, in his time at Fulham he managed to score a total of five goals in the 24 total appearances he had made across all competitions.

The Israeli winger has now signed a brand new contract with Tottenham which will bind him with the English club until 2028. Solomon has become the third signing until now done by the Spurs this summer window after the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison for £17.3m and £40m, respectively.

As per the reports, Tottenham Hotspur are not done yet for the summer, and have apparently also made several loan deals for players like Dejan Kulesevski, and also a permanent one for Pedro Porro.

Manor Solomon joins Tottenham Hotspur as free transfer

Solomon’s departure from Shakhtar Donetsk for free this July was only made possible due to the new FIFA ruling which states that all the non-Ukrainian players will be allowed to suspend their contracts at will owing to the ongoing war with Russia.

However, all the Ukrainian clubs, including Shakhtar have not been happy about this ruling, since this very ruling which was introduced last year, made possible Solomon’s year-long loan deal with Fulham by suspending his contract.

According to the furious arguments put forward by Shakhtar, they stated that they have been losing the transfer fees on their valuable foreign assets which they could have willingly sold, and have claimed that there was no such need of a ruling.

Manor Solomon had about six months remaining in his contract with the Ukrainian club which would have expired by December 2023; however, after the extension of the FIFA ruling, Solomon is now allowed to leave for free since it goes beyond the end of his deal with Shakhtar.
