Tottenham Hotspurs target Daniel James of Leeds United after Zaniolo deal falls off

Daniel James to Spurs

According to widespread reports in the English media, Tottenham Hotspurs are studying the possibility to sign the Leeds United winger Daniel James. Spurs surely have had quite a busy summer and with just 1 week left in the transfer window, the Premier League side are eyeing to complete yet another move.

Conte is looking to add some squad depth in his team in order to maintain his players and not to exhaust them completely. Daniel James is a player who joined Leeds last summer from Manchester United for a deal which was worth around 30 Million Euros after playing for just 2 seasons at Old Trafford. However, now he has the opportunity to join a Champions League side which could potentially transform his career.

Daniel James likely to join Tottenham Hotspurs

Bryan Gil is still expected to depart from Tottenham this summer on loan with the Spaniard looking to return to La Liga by playing for Valencia which is the same club he spent last season at. Both Spurs and the Spanish side have agreed on terms for a season-long loan deal, however Bryan won’t be joining Valencia until Antonio Conte has secured his replacement.

Conte’s ideal target was Nicolo Zaniolo of Roma to replace Gil. The club however, has decided against the move after the Italian club increased their asking price. This move resulting in diverting Spur’s attention towards Leeds’ James.

The North London club are yet to make a formal offer for the Welshman cause they are still considering to bid for other targets including Adama Traore and Anthony Gordon. But convincing James would be a difficult task as he consistently gets regular minutes at Leeds and that is something he probably wouldn’t get at Tottenham.

ALthough if indeed he manages to break through the team and defeats the likes of Son, Perisic and Richaralison on his way, he would definitely become of the best players in the Premier League. All in all, Spurs need to make a decision soon as the transfer window closes in just 1 week.
