Sporting Lisbon Sign Hector Bellerin from FC Barcelona

La Liga giants Barcelona’s full-back Hector Bellerin has officially joined Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon on a permanent transfer move on the deadline day of the January transfer window. It was announced by both the clubs on Tuesday evening.

Bellerin joins Sporting as Pedro Porro replacement

Hector Bellerin had earlier joined Barcelona at the start of September and has already been shown the door out of the Camp Nou since they signed him on a one-year deal and selling him now would be more profitable to the financial strugglers.

The 27-year-old has been picked up by Sporting CP to make up the replacement for the loss of Pedro Porro, who had joined Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the January window.

Xavi had considered him an important player for the squad despite giving him very less game time and with that, FC Barcelona have issued a public statement on the transfer.

Barcelona issue statement on Bellerin transfer

The public statement stated that Barcelona would like to express their gratitude publicly to Bellerin for his show of commitment and dedication for the club and that they were wishing him all the best for the future.

According to reports, Hector Bellerin has joined the Portuguese front on a permanent deal through which Barcelona are all set to receive a €1 million transfer fee, in addition to which they will get another €1 million for the performance-related bonuses, and a certain amount of undisclosed fixed percentage amount for any future sale.

Bellerin has suffered an injury-infested summer right after immediately arriving at Barcelona on a free transfer. He ended up with only a mere seven appearances for the Spanish giants.
