PSG Appeal for Hakim Ziyech Transfer Rejected by LFP; to Remain at Chelsea

Moroccan international, Hakim Ziyech has not been allowed to make his transfer from Premier League club, Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain. The move has reportedly been blocked by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) according to reports.

LFP rejects PSG appeal for Hakim Ziyech

The LFP is the governing body in France which runs the major professional leagues in the country, including the Ligue 1.

Hakim Ziyech’s much anticipated deal broke down after Chelsea had not sent the documents in time to filed in, as well as sending the wrong paperwork on three different occasions, as per sources.

Despite the loan deal being finalized between the two clubs way earlier before Tuesday’s deadline day, Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been told that the league was not informed within the assigned timeline for the transfer to be completed.

Ziyech to PSG deal collapsed after documents fiasco

The Parisian club had earlier also filed an appeal to the LFP to take the matter into consideration but it was rejected.

The 29-year-old was all set to fly to the French capital to complete his loan deal but now it seems he will have to remain at Chelsea due to the havoc caused for the rest of the season.

Ziyech to remain at Chelsea

Ziyech has only made a total of 10 appearances in this season of the Premier League, and only 4 since the 2022 World Cup where he helped the Moroccan national team in finishing 4th with his compatriot and PSG player, Achraf Hakimi.

Chelsea was one of the clubs who have spent quite generously in this January transfer window, spending nearly £318 million for eight new additions to their squad. What this means for Hakim Ziyech is that his chances to appear on pitch for the Blues would be very less, especially after Chelsea’s injured players start to return one by one.
