Nottingham Forest sign Keylor Navas, Felipe, and Jonjo Shelvey on Deadline Day

Nottingham Forest continues their spending spree in the winter market as they recently acquire the famous ex-madrista Keylor Navas from PSG.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper arrives for a loan deal till the end of the season 2022/23.

Navas has made great name for himself while playing for Real Madrid. He was their main man between the sticks as they won three consecutive Champions League titles.

Keylor Navas joins Nottingham on loan move

The Costa Rican was also adjudged as the goalkeeper of the season for 207/18 campaign. Overall, he went 12 major titles with the Madrid side.

However, after the arrival of Courtois at Madrid, Navas forced a move to PSG in 2019. And in his 4 years at the club, he has continued to be a serial winner. And has 2 Ligue 1 titles to show for it.

Hence, it is a surprise that Nottingham Forest was able to secure a move on him.

But it too is not a permanent one. Navas has arrived at the club for a loan move till the end of the season. And his contract contains no Buy Clause, hence the player is certain to return to PSG by the end of the season.

Other than Navas, Nottingham were able to secure two more crucial signings from clubs like Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid.

Felipe, Jonjo Shelvy arrive from Altico and Newcastle United

First was the signing of Felipe from Atletico Madrid, who plays at the back and is most likely to help Nottingham strengthen their defense. The Brazilian has been frustrated with his game time at Atletico.

Hence decided to force a move out of the team and reached Nottingham.

Felipe said: “It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League and I’m really excited to be part of this wonderful, fast-growing club.

“You can see it’s a club looking to really grow. It’s a big challenge for me and I made a clear decision to be part of the history here and grow with the club.”  The 33-year-old will be hoping to mark his debut against Leeds united in the upcoming Premier League game.

The next big signing is that of Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle. He arrives to Nottingham after signing a two and a half year contract that will see him at the club till 2025.

He was an integral part of the Magpies for a long time before falling out of favor. Shelvey’s antics in 2016 helped his side return to the Premier league.

Furthermore, he has immense experience of playing around 270 games in the premier league with teams like Arsenal and Liverpool. Hence he will be a great addition to Nottingham’s squad for sure.

Forest are currently 13th on the points table and will be looking to make the most of Navas to bolster their position on the table.
