Mohammedreza Chianeh Shadloui breaks record of most tackle points, Super Tackles in a game in PKL history; scores 16 tackle points for Patna Pirates

Just when you think you have seen it all, VIVO Pro Kabaddi produces something new. That is exactly what we witnessed in the triple panga encounter between Dabang Delhi and Patna Pirates.

The sensational Iranian Mohammedreza Shadloui scripted history in the game. He became the first defender to inflict not 2-3 but a total of 8 super tackles in a single game.

The 22-year-old was in a sensational form in the game. It seemed as if everything he touched would turn to gold. And that is what we witnessed on the mat.

Mohammedreza Chianeh Shadloui inflicted 8 super tackles in the game

Every tackle that he attempted in the first half of the game gave him a super tackle. In fact, he single handedly saved Patna from getting all out against Delhi on numerous occasions.

Patna had come on to the mat with just 2 raiders in the form of Rohit and Anuj Kumar. In the absence of Sachin Tanwar, neither raiders were able to perform.

As a result, Patna were reduced to just 3 defenders in early moments of the game.

A normal Patna Pirates fan would have expected an all out to come. But a real fan knows that until Shadloui is on the mat, all out is not on the cards.

From trailing at 4-11, Shadloui single handedly helped Patna close the first half at 11-13.

The Iranian showcased insane defending and tackling skills. And owing courtesy to some great support by Neeraj Kumar the Captain, abstained Delhi from inflicting an all out.

Things went out of hand for Delhi in the second half when Shadloui even came to raid and picked up a point. This gave Patna the advantage in the game.

However, the inevitable can only be delayed and not avoided. And the all out finally arrived for Patna. The raiders still couldn’t join the party and Patna lost the game by 3 points.

Mohammedreza Shadlui emerged as not only the best player for Patna. But he also was the best player on the mat on either side. He claimed a total of 19 points from the game.

This figure was more than the total of all the raid points scored by either side of raiders combined.

Shadloui also broke the record of most tackle points by a defender in a game. The previous record was 12, he broke that to own it at 16 points in a game.

The only sad feeling for him from the game would be the loss. As despite all his hard work, he couldn’t get Patna Pirates over the line.
