Manchester City Agree Josko Gvardiol Deal With RB Leipzig

Premier League champions, Manchester City have made arrangements and agreed on purchasing Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig. As per the latest reports, the Croatian is said to have already finished the first part of his medical with the club earlier on Wednesday.

The deal is understood to have already been done already between both the clubs. The Croatian international who plays as a center-half and also sometimes as a left-back had already agreed to all personal terms with the Sky blues a month ago and this was only a matter of time.

According to the sources, RB Leipzig have demanded something around anything between €100m and £86.7m because of the fact that Gvardiol already had a contract signed with the German club which took him until 2027, giving them an upper hand in negotiations over the Croatian.

After the signing of the midfielder Mateo Kovacic from rivals Chelsea, Gvardiol will become the second summer signing by Pep Guardiola’s City. Among those who are being offloaded from the club is Riyad Mahrez, who is inching closer to join Saudi side Al-Ahli for £30m.

Pep Guardiola has strengthened his arsenal of central defenders for his Champions League winning side. Gvardiol who had been with Leipzig only for about two seasons has joined the likes of Manuel Akanji, Rúben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Aké and John Stones at City.

The Sky Blues seem to be keen on expanding the list of elite players at the Etihad as per the requirements of boss Guardiola who had been the major force behind Manchester City’s treble this season.

Two player who have departed the club at their peak is Ilkay Gundogan who has left for Spain into Barcelona and another probability being Mahrez, who has tasted success at City with four Premier League victories, a champions league and two FA Cups.
