Kuldeep Sen, one of the emerging players at the 2022 IPL, is all set to join the Indian squad in UAE ahead of the Asia Cup. According to Dainik Bhaskar’s reports, he is replacing Deepak Chahar.

He will join the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan, who are already in the squad. And become a partner to Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel in the standbys’ list.

Kuldeep Sen to replace Deepak Chahar

If the reports by Bhaskar are to be believed, then Deepak Chahar has again picked up a niggle. The pacer featured in the three-match ODI between Zimbabwe and India. And made a remarkable comeback into the squad by picking three wickets in the first ODI.

However, it seems that the player has picked up another niggle. And is all set to miss the Asia Cup, which would have been his gateway to T20 World Cup.

Kuldeep Sen’s brother Jagdeep, in a conversation with Bhaskar, revealed that his brother got a call from the BCCI selector on the 22nd of August. Over the call, Chetan Sharma informed him about his selection to the squad.

Notably, Kuldeep Sen has received his maiden call-up owing to his outstanding performance in the 2022 edition of the IPL. The pacer from Madhya Pradesh impressed everyone with his express pace. Along with that, he also picked 8 wickets in just 7 games at an economy of 9.41.

The Indian team in recent times have lacked a little in the department of producing left-arm pacers. Although Arshdeep Singh looks like a promising seamer, India can do good with some serious pace that Sen brings on the team.
