The IPL auction for the 2023 edition is just around the corner. The event is set to take place in Kochi next Saturday and the internet is filled with reports about which team might be interested in which player.

Amid them, one report that stood tall against the other is Chennai Super King’s keen interest in England’s Sam Curran.

According to various records, captain MS Dhoni has named Curran in the most wanted list of players for Chennai Super Kings. Hence, the team is desperate to bring Curran back to Chepauk at any cost.

The interest has two-fold implications. First, Curran had a stint with the team in two seasons of IPL, in year 2022 and 2021. This means that he is already accustomed with the ways of the team and its culture.

Second reason is very tactical. After the retirement of Dwayne Bravo, the men in yellow want a player for the future. Someone who can bowl in the right time and hit them out of the park.

With Bravo not around anymore, Curran should be the team overseas quick feels team management and especially Dhoni. He can bowl at the death and also chip in with the bat lower down the order’, said a source close to CSK team management.

Hence it is a no blinder that Chennai Super Kings will be going after Sam Curran.

Sam Curran has a great sting with Chennai Super Kings. And before that he was a part of the Punjab Kings for the 2019 season. He has played a total of 32 games, in which he has picked up a total of 32 wickets at an economy of 9.21 and scored 337 runs at a strikerate of 149.

Therefore, he is a very key player to have in the side and Chennai Super Kings along with MS Dhoni will be doing everything in their power to get him back.
