“I won’t consider myself GOAT…” says Virat Kohli; names two player he thinks are Greatest cricketers of all time

Arguably one of the grestest cricketer playing at the moment, Virat Kohli, has taken a crack at the GOAT debate taking center stage on the internet after his frivolous inning against Pakistan.

Virat Kohli saved Indian team’s inning almost single handedly in their opening encounter of T20 World Cup 2022. Playing their first game against Pakistan at a jam-packed MCG ground, India was tasked to chase down 160 runs.

The Greatest T20 World Cup inning by Virat Kohli

Things didn’t turn out too well for them as they were reduced to 31/4. That is when Virat Kohli decided to take a stand for his country. And scored one of the best innings of T20 World Cup’s history to take India over the line.

Virat Kohli scored 82* off 53 to help India over the line. His inning included 6 fours and 4 sixes. He helped his team chase out 48 runs in the last three overs.

This inning of his rekindled the debate about whether Kohli really is the “Greatest of all Time?” Or as the netizens call it: GOAT.

On Wednesday Virat Kohli himself decided to give his take on the GOAT debate. In a show on Star Sports, Kohli answered FAQs about him on Google. And one of them was: is Virat Kohli the GOAT?

Virat Kohli names his GOATs of Cricket

To this Virat replied, “No, I wouldn’t consider myself the GOAT of cricket. For me only 2 people qualify for it. Its Sachin Tendulkar and Viv Richards.”

The whole world knows that Virat Kohli is a huge admirer of Sachin Tendulkar. They have spent nearly five years playing together for the Indian cricket team. Hence, it goes without saying that Kohli will consider Sachin the Greatest of all Times.

And given the records that Sachin Tendulkar has in cricket, there’s very little evidence to refute the claim made by Virat Kohli.

Sir Vivian Richards is also very similar to Sachin Tendulkar. His contribution to the sport has been immense. Although his era was before that of Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster on several occasion has admitted to have admired Richards.

Hence, Virat Kohli’s answer to the GOAT debate makes a lot of sence.
