The recent clash between Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir has created tension, especially considering their past as key players in India’s T20 and ODI World Cup victories. The incident occurred during a Legends League Cricket (LLC) match in Surat, a tournament for retired players. Right from the beginning of the game, there were heated moments between the two, reaching a peak during several confrontations.

Sreesanth stared at Gambhir after he hit boundaries, and Gambhir responded in a similar manner. The situation escalated when the two players confronted each other on the field.

After the match, Sreesanth went on Instagram to share his perspective, accusing Gambhir of sparking conflicts with his colleagues. He hinted at revealing the exact words Gambhir used during the incident.

In a later Instagram video, Sreesanth claimed that Gambhir called him a ‘fixer’ during their on-field argument. Sreesanth stressed that he remained composed, didn’t use offensive language, and responded with laughter to Gambhir’s accusations.

Recalling the incident, Sreesanth said, “I only said, ‘What are you saying? What are you saying?’ In fact, I kept laughing sarcastically because he kept calling me ‘Fixer, fixer, you are a fixer, F*** off fixer.’ This is the language that was used. When they were trying to control him, he kept on calling me a fixer.”

It’s important to note that Sreesanth had faced legal issues and a ban for alleged spot-fixing in the 2013 IPL. After serving a lengthy suspension, he returned to domestic cricket in 2021.

Sreesanth emphasized that he was not at fault, highlighting the unacceptable nature of Gambhir’s words on the live cricket field. He mentioned the impact such incidents have on his family and state, acknowledging the support he received during his previous challenges. Sreesanth promised to reveal the specifics of Gambhir’s comments, asserting that the former opener crossed lines that should not have been crossed.
