Enzo Fernandez “Threatened Benfica” to Sanction Chelsea Move Immediately Says Report

Premier League giants, Chelsea’s brand new signing Enzo Fernandez had reportedly told Benfica, his former club that he would decline to play and would return back to Argentina if they did not immediately sign an agreement with Chelsea.

The 2022 World Cup winner finally managed to get his wish fulfilled and landed in Stamford Bridge after the completion of his dream transfer to the Premier League in the final hours of the deadline day of January transfer window after several meetings between both clubs.

However, the wonderkid is having his reputation in Portugal shattered to pieces as he heads toward the Premier League. Alleged reports have been spreading like wildfire of his actions and behaviour throughout the negotiations with Chelsea.

A sports newspaper from Lisbon has exposed Fernandez’s behaviours, saying that he had threatened the club with talks of heading back to Argentina if Benfica did not immediately sanction his deal in January.

Chelsea had their eyes set on Enzo Fernandez since forever and were waiting like a hawk for an opportunity to seal the deal, but were unable to find an appropriate deal agreement with Benfica until the final anxious hours of deadline day.

Chelsea and Benfica had finally reached agreeable terms for both parties and had shaken their hands with a record £107million worth deal.

The Argentinian Young Player of the 2022 World Cup completed his medical checks in Lisbon itself so as to speed up the process of transfer further prior to him finally bidding Portugal goodbye and flying to London for his official unveiling ceremony.
