Cristiano Ronaldo Says “South Africa” Instead of Saudi Arabia During Al Nassr Unveiling

Cristiano Ronaldo dropped a very awkward slip of tongue at his official unveiling ceremony by Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr where he confused Saudi Arabia with South Africa.

The ex-Real Madrid legend was finally unveiled in Riyadh after his much-anticipated and record-breaking record-breaking £173million-a-year contract with the Saudi front. This has made him the best paying player in the history.

This unique deal for the “unique” player, as Ronaldo said himself, includes Ronaldo being a part of Al Nassr as a player for two and a half years and later it will be seeing him as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia.

However, the start for Ronaldo was a little blunder-infested.

Ronaldo mistakenly pronounces Saudi Arabia as South Africa

Speaking at a press conference which was attended by the biggest media outlets during the unveiling, Ronaldo had made a bizarre mistake when he said that it was not the end of his career, coming to “South Africa.”

This bizarre blunder where Ronaldo had confused the middle-eastern country with South Africa can be attributed to the fact that English is not the first language of the football legend, although a little geography isn’t harmful to anyone!

However, he quickly followed up the blunder with some genuine feelings which he shared with the press, saying that he did not worry about what people had to say and that he took his decision thoughtfully.

Ronaldo, the 37-year-old Portuguese legend, was greeted by thousands of fans after he arrived and even his press conference was fully packed, with most reporters looking like fans who were shouting “SIU”, his trademark celebration during the unveiling.
