Chelsea to submit a bid of 90 Million Euros for Wesley Fofana, reports

It has indeed been quite a rollercoaster of a transfer window for Todd Boehly and Chelsea football club this summer as they have seen a number of their targets slip away with Kounde, Dembele, Raphinha and Lewandowski in the list. They have even sold and loaned out some of their key players in the team with the likes of Lukaku, Christensen and the latest player to leave the Blues was Timo Werner.

However now there are widespread reports in the Engllish media that they are extremely interested to sign Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana, and it is also reported that they might make a record breaking bid in order to sign the Frenchman.

Chelsea submits bid for Wesley Fofana

Fofana has been consistently linked with an exit from Leicester because of the club’s well known critical financial situation, hence there have been many top clubs linked to the center back. The defender signed a contract extension with the Foxes in March which has another 5 years to run until 2027.

So this renewal means that it would take a considerable fee for any club in order to persuade the hierarchy of Leicester to sell one of their best players. But surprisingly it now appears that Chelsea are exactly willing to do just that in order to strengthen their backline.

They had already submitted 2 bids to Leicetser for Fofana of which the first bid was around 60 Million Euros and the second one was around 70 Million Euros, but both have been rejected by the Foxes as they consider it less that the center back’s valuation.

And hence they are now oragnising a new bid which’ll go upto an astronomical amount of 90 Million Euros and that was of course the fee that Leicester received for Harry Maguire when they sold him to Manchetser United. It is reported that Fofana is pushing for the deal to happen and it is believed that he has already agreed personal terms with Tuchel’s team. So it would be interesting to see how this transfer saga develops.
