Chelsea in talks with South American wonder kid Kendy Paez

Chelsea, the 2017 English Premier League champions are in advanced talks with 15-year old South American prodigy Kendry Paez. The young gun has attracted keen interest from all the European heavyweights, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United to name some.

According to leading sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paez is considered to be one of the finest Ecuadorean talents who is in for the long run. He will be able to join Chelsea once he turns 18.

He has left his mark at the youth levels in the South American league for the club Independiente del Valle. He also impressed the senior club officials when he scored in his debut in a 3-1 triumph over fellow rivals Mushuc Runa, in the last week.

A bright prospect on the cards

Independient del Valle’s sporting director Santiago Morales was heard speaking about the prodigy’s future this week.

“There is interest from several teams, we cannot deny it. Perhaps the difference is that the clubs are finding out with their football associations how to sign a contract today, so that when he turns 18 he can be registered with them.

Kendy PaWe are waiting for that to see how that document would be put together and with that proceed to sign a contract, but for now the monitoring and interest of important teams in Europe is maintained.”

One for the future

According to TyC Sports journalist Luis Merlo,  Chelsea are nudging ahead with talks to sign Paez and are in discussions over a deal worth €20 million (£17.7m) including add-ons.
