Chelsea confirms signing Christopher Nkunku Before January Window; know details

RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku’s deal to be signed by Chelsea has been “confirmed” by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The English club is said to have readied everything and sealed their signing, claiming he could now be considered a brand-new Chelsea player.

However, the official confirmation from the club is yet to come. It is presently unknown when the blues will be making a statement, though it is only a matter of time.

Know Christopher Nkunku transfer details

If everything goes as per plans, Nkunku will be moving to Stamford Bridge later in summer 2023 due to the decision of refusal by director Todd Boehly to make a move in the January window. This announcement comes despite his major injury, which will sideline him for the rest of the term.

The blues are now rumored to be looking for prospective strikers in the January transfer window, other than Nkunku, as he arrives slowly in the summer.

The 25-year-old would bring an outstanding CV with records to back his side, including 12 goals netted and 2 assists in 15 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

Nkunku’s records this season also include 4 goal involvements in the UEFA Champions League and his skillset as both a striker and playmaker who plays slightly deep at times, making him quite an intimidating trump card.

Currently suffering from a torn knee ligament, which ruled him out of the French campaign in the Qatar World Cup, he would be hoping to continue his pre-injury form after his recovery.

Earlier speaking to French television media, he had said,

“It’s no secret. There are clubs interested in me. Yes, it’s flattering, but it’s also flattering to have a club like Leipzig do everything to keep me as well.”

“I’ll have to reflect well and make a decision. The World Cup is on the way and that’s another factor to take into account.”
