According to various reports in the English media, Chelsea football club have reached an agreement with Leicester City for Wesley Fofana. It is reported that the deal will be worth around an astronomical figure of 90 Million Euros.
This has been a transfer saga that has been going on for the past few weeks. Chelsea have already submitted 2 bids for the defender which have been rejected by the Foxes. But now they have made breakthrough in the deal of Fofana who is a major player for Thomas Tuchel’s rebuild this season.
Wesley Fofana to strengthen Chelsea’s squad
Todd Boehly has backed the manager. The new owners are tirelessly spending the money and it is even reported that after this deal, there could be another 100 Million Euros spent on transfers in the remainder of the market.
Since missing out on Jules Kounde , Fofana has been the main target for the Blues. They are massively focused to strengthen their backline and Fofana is a part of their plans for the future as well. He is player that can really push the club forward in the right direction and take them to another level.
Of course Chelsea are still in a very good position and it’s not that they are really struggling to get the results, they are a team that have won the Champions League just 18 months back and have been in every domestic cup final since Tuchel has arrived. But they did not manage to compete in the title race last season cause of various reasons like injuries, Lukaku’s bad form and due to the ownership controversies which affected the player’s mindset.
Chelsea eyeing further bigger signings
Fofana would join the list of Sterling, Koulibaly and Cucurella as these players have already been signed up by Chelsea. After completing the Frechman’s deal, the Premier League side is looking forward to sign the likes of Aubameyang, Anthony Gordon and Frenkie De Long.
Chelsea supporters should be really excited ahead of the new season as their team is making serious progress and going forward in the right way. There is no doubt they could be title challenger this season with the squad that they have.
