Barcelona’s De Jong Wants Manchester United Move After Erik Ten Hag Call

La Liga giants, Barcelona’s midfielder Frenkie de Jong is very keen on moving to Premier League club, Manchester United, according to sources.

According to latest report from sources, the midfielder had a recent phone call with the current Manchester United boos Erik ten Hag, and since then he has expressed his desire of joining the Red Devils in the upcoming January transfer window.

De Jong, who is 25-year-old, was being heavily speculated of moving to Old Trafford during the previous summer transfer window as well, however, that particular move did come to fruition.

De Jong linked with Man United again

It will now become interesting to witness if Barcelona agree on such a deal for his potential departure in the January window.

Manchester United are desperately in need of some midfield reinforcements and the Dutchman could certainly become that stunning addition to the team.

He could fit in well and become a great duo alongside the iconic Brazilian midfielder Casemiro at the centre of United’s midfield.

De Jong would prove to be a worthy upgrade on other players like Fred and McTominay. As United are gearing up to secure a Champions League qualification and other major trophies, a signing of De Jong’s calibre would solidify their squad for the second half of the PL season.

However, if we are being honest, it is very unlikely that Barcelona will even come to such terms of letting a key player go, which would leave their own club weakened right at the middle of their campaign.

De Jong has proved himself as one of the most crucial players for the Camp Nou side this season and has also been in a spectacular form for this La Liga giants this season.

It should be expected that the Red Devils will have to wait until the 2023 summer to sign the Dutchman.
