Barcelona has had a great start to their Monday pre-season tournament in the USA. They defeated David Beckham-owned Inter Miami in a really disdainful manner by a margin of 6-0.
The man of the moment during and after the game was definitely Raphinha.
Raphinha shine for Barcelona
The Brazilian and former Leeds United star, Raphinha, moved to the Spanish-based club last week. And yesterday, he marked his Barcelona debut in style. He scored a goal and provided two assists in a match where Barcelona thumped Inter Miami.
The game’s first goal came in the 19th minute by the boots of Aubameyang. It was a great waited pass by Raphinha that set up the goal. And the Gabon player chipped the keeper from inside the 30-yard area.
6 minutes later, the second goal of the game was scored by Raphinha himself. He received a great cross from youngster Alex Balde, and all he had to do was volley it home. This strike made it 2-0 for Barcelona.
Raphinha then set up another goal for his team. this time, the finisher on the ball was Ansu Fati, who volleyed a superb shot past the keeper from the edge of the box. Making it 3-0 for Barcelona.
Barcelona showing great attacking prowess
Raphinha was taken off during halftime, but he had a great outing in the first half.
The second half was a landslide in Barcelona’s favor. They managed to score three more goals, with Gavi, Depay, and Dembele being the scorers.
Another player who debuted for the club was center-back Christensen. He, too, made some crucial tackles at the back.
Robert Lewandowski, the most anticipated signing of the summer season, was seen on the bench for the match. Fans will be hoping to see some glimpses of him sooner.
Barcelona will next take on Real Madrid for a feisty encounter on the 24th of July.
