Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian batter, went incognito and assumed the role of a cameraman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of India’s match against Sri Lanka. Donning a full shirt to conceal his tattoos, along with a mask and a hat, Yadav ventured out to Marine Drive to engage with cricket fans before their group stage game in Mumbai on Thursday, November 2.
Disguised in his attire, Yadav engaged fans in conversations about the Indian team and its performance. Many fans expressed their admiration for their favorite cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, emphasizing the team’s outstanding form in the tournament. Surprised that his name hadn’t been mentioned, Yadav inquired about himself and received some intriguing responses.

One fan discussed Suryakumar Yadav’s batting and expressed a desire to see him in a higher batting position. The fan acknowledged that he wasn’t in a position to critique his batting but hoped to see him excel.
Another fan praised Yadav’s batting and his effective use of wristwork, stating how enjoyable it was to watch him play. At this point, Suryakumar removed his mask, revealing his true identity, which left the fan astonished. Yadav then took pictures with the fans and concluded his time as the cameraman.
In the team’s recent group stage game against England, Suryakumar Yadav made a significant contribution. As India’s top order faced difficulties, Yadav played a gritty innings, scoring 49 runs off 47 balls, which helped India reach a total of over 200 in Lucknow. This proved crucial in giving India a defendable target, ultimately resulting in a 100-run victory.
Currently, India is the sole unbeaten team in the tournament and is set to face Sri Lanka in their 7th group stage match on Thursday.
