Will Jacks powers Pretoria Capitals to their second consecutive win as they beat Eastern Cape by 37 runs

Sunrisers Eastern Cape locked horns with Pretoria Capitals in the 6th match of the inaugural SA20 league at SuperSport park in Centurion . After being called into bat by Eastern Cape, the Wayne Parnell led- Capitals posted a mountain of a score which was too much for the Eastern Cape.

Opener William Jacks out on a stellar show with the bat which powered the Capitals to a huge score of 216/6, the highest team score of the SA20 league. The English International was clinical with his big hitting skills.

Jacks scored at double quick time and made a match winning 46 ball 92 runs. It included a total of 7 fours and 8 sixes and was a blockbuster of a innings for which he was awarded the man of the match. He was well supported by de Bruyn’s 43 runs with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

The duo put on a 111 run partnership for the third wicket which set the tone for the Capitals. The Eastern Cape bowlers were not good enough to restrict this onslaught

Eastern Cape left with a huge score to chase

Chasing 217 was never going to be easy for the Aiden Markram led Eastern Cape. They failed to have a big partnership in the middle as the Capitals bowled in good areas. Captain Aiden Markram was the highest scorer for the Eastern Cape. He was looking good before he was dismissed on 46 runs from 29 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

However, the Capitals picked wickets in the middle overs which denied Eastern Cape with any momentum. Marco Jansen and Brydon Carse tried their level best with their unbeaten explosive innings of 36 and 26 respectively but eventually was not enough.

Eastern Cape fell short by a huge margin of 37 runs which marked their second consecutive loss of the season.  Captain Wayne Parnell was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/20 and was well assisted by the rest to seal the second win on the trot for  the Capitals.
