Weston McKennie to join Leeds United from Juventus, know details

It is now widely believed in the English media that Leeds United have reached an agreement with Serie A giants Juventus for the transfer of Weston McKennie. It is reported that this deal includes a 1.5 Million Euros loan fee and then the Premier League side also have the option to buy clause for 33 Million Euros, but this option could also become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Weston will now travel to England over this weekend to undergo medical tests and eventually formalize his move and sign the contracts. The USA International played for Juventus since 2020 when he arrived on loan from the Bundesliga team Schalke 04, however, later on his move became permanent due to his impressive performances.

McKennie to get the winning momentum back for Jesse March

During the two seasons in Italy, the forward managed to score 13 goals and also provided 5 assists in 96 games, and he also won the Coppa Italia along with the Supercoppa Italiana with Juve. But despite this, he still couldn’t establish himself in the starting lineup on a regular basis which recently resulted in hampering his game time and hence he was keen for a transfer move this window.

But now that he is moving to Leeds United, he’ll also join his fellow American teammates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson who are playing under Jesse Marsch. Weston is surely a boost in the squad depth for March’s side as he is a very versatile player cause he can play as an attacking midfielder, holding midfielder or even as a right back. And along with that, his strong physique will also be a huge benefit to the team, given the standards of physicality in the PL.

Mckennie could make his debut for Leeds United next Sunday against Nottingham Forest. Now that he will arrive, there is no doubt that he could play a major role in Leeds’s relegation battle cause currently, they are just 1 point ahead of the relegation zone in 15th place. And if he manages to keep his side in the PL, his move would most likely get permanent.
