Ten Hag Becoming Increasingly Impatient With Jadon Sancho Before A Summer Clear Out

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly becoming increasingly impatient with Jadon Sancho as the star winger is failing to put an impact with the team and has failed to find form since joining the club in 2021.

Ten Hag plots a ruthless summer offloading with many of the first team’s stars expected to be sold, and Sancho could be on the list.

Even during Red Devil’s last Premier League outing, Sancho came on as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United on Sunday and had little to no impact. The English winger was constantly outdone in his duels and was barely a threat in the future in what was an all-around poor display from Manchester United.

Sancho has had Little Impact Since Joining

After his return from exile in the current season, Sancho produced some promising performances and even contributed with a few goals but, like many of his teammates, has recently found it hard to be effective consistently. Even if Sancho does not face the risk of being sold by the club this summer, the next season could be make-or-break for him, judging by Ten Hag’s growing frustration.

United paid a hefty £75m to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021, but he has registered just 10 goals and four assists from 64 games in all competitions. In comparison, he was a revelation during his time in Germany. He bagged 50 goals and 64 assists from just 137 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions.

Ten Hag has recently tried to experiment with Sancho in multiple roles. The 23-year-old needs to find his feet sooner rather than later to reassure his Red Devils career.

United Need Money And A Clear-out Is Imminent

United are currently in a tight situation with Financial Fair Play due to the lack of funds from player sales. Hence, they need to cash in on players this summer and they could easily recoup more than £100m by selling their out-of-favor stars.

According to The Manchester Evening News, as United brace to receive offers for a number of their players, Sancho is gradually getting on the wrong end of Ten Hag’s temperament.

United are expected to listen to offers for backup goalkeeper Dean Henderson as he had an explosive interview last summer saying that he was treated as a ‘criminal’ and a ‘caged animal’ and there appears no way back for the club graduate after such comments.

Samuel Luckhurst reports, “Erik ten Hag wants Manchester United to be more ruthless with a squad clearout as part of the next phase of their rebuild.

Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Anthony Martial will all be made available for transfer, as will Eric Bailly if he fails to hit the appearance milestone to trigger Marseille’s obligation to make his loan move permanent.”

Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga could also be on the way out for loan spells to pave the way for Amad Diallo to come into the team and fight for a place under Ten Hag.
