Surisers Hyderabad, more prevalently known as SRH is one of the most fans-loved franchises in IPL. Previously known as the Deccan Chargers, they have been a hot topic of discussion in every IPL they partake in.
SRH also won the 2016 edition of the IPL and faced a loss in 2018. Following this, their popularity has grown several folds.

Most Run scorer for SRH Overview
1. David Warner 4014 runs
One of the most prominent batters in the shortest format of cricket is David Warner. He was the most destructive batter in the ranks of SRH, and hence he is the most runs scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.
David Warner represented SRH in 8 seasons in total. He became a part of the team in 2014 when he was roped in from Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) and appointed as the captain of SRH.
Warner played 95 games for the side in this period and emerged as the top scorer with a total of 4014 runs to his name, at an average of 49.5 and a strike rate of 142. Warner scored 40 fifties for SRH and two centuries during his time.
David Warner has moved on from SRH to Delhi Capitals after a very controversial season in 2021. He was stripped of his role as captain, for his poor run of form continued. And was later removed from the team as well.
But this doesn’t change the fact that Warner is one of the most important players in the history of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In fact, he is the only overseas captain to have won the league in the past decade or so.
2. Shikhar Dhawan 2518 runs
Another veteran in the ranks of Sunrisers Hyderabad was Shikhar Dhawan. And hence he is the second most runs scorer for SRH in IPL.
SRH roped in Dhawan in 2013 as the captain of the side. He was coming off a great spell of form in international cricket, so the SRH management decided to take a chance on him. And the player did not disappoint.
He was a part of the setup for around 6 seasons in which he played a total of 85 games and managed to score 2518 runs at an average of 34. Dhawan played a massive role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 2016 title conquest.
Shikhar Dhawan might have moved on to other endeavors in IPL. He is currently with Delhi Capitals, and before that, he was with Punjab Kings, but it doesn’t discount the idea that he was an essential part of SRH’s legacy.
3. Kane Williamson 2101 runs
One of the most underused assets by Sunrisers Hyderabad has been Kane Williamson. But the class of the player is evident in the fact that he still managed to become the third-highest runs scorer for SRH in IPL.
Williamson joined the SRH side in 2015 and never really got the first team action. He was mainly used to rotating players until, in the last few years with the franchise where he was appointed as the side’s captain.
Kane Williamson has played just 76 games for the side and yet has managed to score a total of 2101 runs at an average of 36. In this short span, he has also managed to smash 18 fifties for the side.
Being unsatisfied with his performance in the 2022 season, the management of SRH decided to drop him from the side. And recently, he was picked up by Gujarat Titans in the auction. But this doesn’t change the fact that he was one of the most valuable assets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.

1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar 134 wickets
Kumar is a veteran of the game in a real sense. Especially when it comes to playing in IPL, he has been there since the tournament’s inception and was roped in by Sunrisers in 2014, where he has emerged as the most wicket-taker in IPL.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in 120, in which he has managed to claim 134 wickets at an economy of 7.4, along with the best figures of 5 for just 19 runs.
Kumar has been an integral part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. He has been with them for around nine years. And has also shared a fair share of the captaincy burden. With his lethal skills in the powerplay and death overs, He is one of the most valuable assets and the highest wicket-taker for SRH in IPL.
2. Rashid Khan 93 wickets
Sunrisers Hyderabad had one of the most potent T20 bowlers in the form of Rashid Khan. And it doesn’t surprise anyone to see him among the most wicket taker for SRH in IPL.
Rashid Khan was introduced to the world from his exploits at the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He first represented in the 2017 season and immediately became one of their go-to bowlers in critical situations.
During his tenure of 5 years with the team, Rashid Khan played 76 games and picked up 93 wickets in them at an average of 6.33 which is too good considering the short format of the game.
Although he moved on to Gujarat Titans in the latest edition of IPL, Rashid Khan will remain one of the highest wicket-takers for SRH in IPL.
3. Sidharth Kaul 52 wickets
One of the most underrated and surprising names on this list is of Sidharth Kaul. He has been one of those bowlers who has passed under the radar for several years. Hence it is very amusing to see him as the third most wickets taker for SRH in IPL.
Kaul represented SRH in 5 seasons from 2017 to 2021 and played a total of 43 games for the side in which he managed to pick up 52 wickets to his name. Although his economy was a little higher, the team will take it, considering the hard overs that he bowled for them in the IPL.
