Sergio Ramos will leave PSG after two years

Spanish defender Sergio Ramos will leave PSG after two disappointing seasons. He will follow Lionel Messi in leaving the Parc des Princes, Messi’s contract also expires with PSG and he has no intention to renew it.

The former Real Madrid defender posted on Twitter that he will leave the club at the end of this season. The 37-year-old played for Real Madrid for 16 years, he made 671 appearances, making him the club’s fourth-highest all-time appearance maker, only behind by Raúl 741, Casillas 725 and Sanchís 710. He scored 101 goals and won numerous titles with Los Blancos.

Ramos joined star studded PSG alongside Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi. The French side were once again eager to win their first ever Champions League. With the signings they made, they were the favorites that year. However, PSG were knocked out of the tournament with yet another disappointing result, and were out of the UCL in the round of 16 as Real Madrid thrashed them.

Ramos won 5 La Liga, 2 Copa Del Rey, 4 Supercopa De Espana, 2 Ligue 1, 4 UEFA Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 3 FIFA Club World Cups, 1 World Cup and 2 Euro’s. After winning almost all titles Ramos is looking for a move away from Europe.

The ex-Sevilla defender leaves PSG as a two-time Ligue 1 champion and played 57 games for the club. Although, he was unable to help the French club achieve their goal of winning the Champions League.

The veteran centre-back will play his last game for PSG on Saturday against Clermont Foot. Saudi league clubs, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have already started to approach Ramos in the recent weeks, while he was still discussing his contract at PSG. However, Ramos will decide his future together with his family.
