Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty Slip in Badminton Rankings; PV Sindhu Holds Steady at 10th Position

In the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, the men’s doubles champions at the Asian Games, witnessed a decline, dropping to the fifth position. Meanwhile, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth maintained their rankings in their respective categories.

Shetty-Rankireddy’s Ranking Dip

After claiming the top spot following their Asian Games victory, the Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty experienced a setback, slipping to the fifth position in the recent BWF rankings. The duo’s loss at the French Open contributed to their drop in the rankings, prompting a need for resurgence in upcoming tournaments.

Despite facing a knee injury during her French Open campaign, PV Sindhu retained her 10th position in the women’s singles category. Her consistent performance has enabled her to maintain a strong foothold in the global badminton rankings, showcasing her resilience and determination on the court.

In the men’s singles category, Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth held steady in their respective rankings. Prannoy secured the eighth spot, while Lakshya and Srikanth maintained the 17th and 22nd positions, respectively, highlighting the consistent performance of the Indian contingent in the global badminton landscape.

Women’s Doubles Standing

India’s leading women’s doubles pair, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, retained their 18th position in the recent BWF rankings. Their consistent performance signifies their dedication and skill on the badminton court, reflecting the depth of talent within the Indian badminton fraternity.
