Sarfaraz Khan didn’t stop his emotions as he brought up a century in the Ranji Trophy final against Madhya Pradesh. The 24-year-old was seen pumped up with emotions and sentiments and later moved to tears.

The batter had fought on the pitch for a long while. Sarfaraz Khan went through a torrent of emotions, from steading the ship to taking the attack on the MP batters. And when he finally reached the milestone ahead of the lunch on Day 2, he couldn’t hold himself.

Sarfaraz celebrated his century in a Shikhar Dhawan-styled thigh-five celebration. With teary yet fierce eyes.

The BCCI Domestic page, dedicated to updating fans about the action taking place on the domestic front, shared a video of Khan. And captioned it: “This has been a superb knock in the all-important summit clash.”

The video was also shared by the official account of Sarfaraz’s IPL team, Delhi Capitals.

Sarfaraz Khan’s magnificent inning

Having played second fiddle to Jaiswal on day one, Khan started his day with just 40 runs to his name. He had played 152 balls in the process, which meant he was well set and ready to rear.

Things didn’t go in that manner, though. Mumbai lost their very first wicket of the day on the second ball. And after that, it was all a downhill for them.

The Madhya Pradesh bowlers were breathing fire, to which the Mumbai batters couldn’t react. That is when Sarfaraz decided to change gears. He reached his fifty in a delicate manner. But started accelerating from there onwards.

A barrage of fours saw him reach the subsequent 50 runs in just 38 deliveries. He spared neither the pacers nor the spinners to get his milestone, the fourth century of the season, in just 190 balls.

He helped Mumbai reach a towering score of 374 runs with his quickfire batting. Sarfaraz was the last man to be dismissed for 134 runs. He smashed 13 fours and 2 sixes in his magnificent inning that saw Mumbai to a grand total.

Gaurav Yadav emerged as the pick of bowlers for Madhya Pradesh, with four wickets to his name.
