Real Madrid sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund on a six-year deal valid until 2029. Medical tests booked as Madrid wanted to seal his signing this week.

Madrid will pay €103 million for the English Midfielder and €31 million in bonuses, which makes him Madrid’s record signing.

Bellingham will earn €10/12 million net per season. An official statement from Los Blancos is expected.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, as he also won the Bundesliga Player of the Season.

He was also named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in the 20/21 and 22/23 seasons. He played 42 matches and has sixteen goals and five assists in all competitions this season.

Bellingham also helped England in the World Cup scoring one goal and assisting one. But, England were out of the World Cup in the Quarter-finals as France defeated them 2-1.

Real Madrid sign Jude Bellingham for a record fee

Jude Bellingham had already accepted personal terms with Real Madrid in April. Liverpool were the frontrunners and thought Bellingham could solve their midfield issue, but they didn’t want to pay €100 million for him.

Manchester City were also eyeing the Englishman. But as soon as he knew that the Spanish giants want him he agreed to join them.

The former Birmingham City player will join the star-studded midfield of Real Madrid. However, he will have to compete for a place with the likes of Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.

With veterans like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos still at the club for another season, Bellingham can learn a lot from them.

Bellingham came from the youth system of Birmingham City and left for Dortmund in 2020. Birmingham City retired the number 22 jersey after Billingham left the club.

It’s fair to say that Real Madrid’s future midfield is set for the years to come.
