Max Eberl’s statement on Josko Gvardiol move to Manchester City

Max Eberl, Leipzig’s director said, “I can confirm that Josko Gvardiol and agents told us about their desire to move to Manchester City.”

Moreover, if the deal goes through, it will make him the most expensive defender in the world at juts 21 years. It would surpass £86 million, which Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire.

The 21-year-old will give tough competition to Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji and out-of-favor Aymeric Laporte. The Croatian is also capable of playing at left-back if needed.

The rise of RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol

Since leaving Dinamo Zagreb in 2020, he has made 88 appearances for RB Leipzig and is regarded one of the most highly rated defenders in the world. Moreover, he has also scored a header against Man City in the first-leg of the Champions League round of 16.
