Jaydev Unadkat continues his red hot form in the domestic season. Following the win in Vijay Hazare trophy, he picked up a fifer in his first Ranji Trophy match of the 2022/23 season.

He had just returned from the India’s tour of Bangladesh owing to which he had missed previous matches. But now, playing in his first game of the season for Saurashtra he has made his presence felt by picking up first first-over-hattrick in history of Ranji Trophy.

Unadkat completed his feat against Delhi in his side’s third Ranji Trophy match of the season.

Winning the toss, Delhi decided to bat first in the SCA stadium in Rajkot. The idea was that the pitch will become better to bat with time. But there was some help for the bowlers upfront and Unadkat made the most of it.

He removed the first scalp of the match in the first over itself. It was Dhruv Shorey who departed on the third ball of the match. He is currently the highest run getter of the tournament and was undone by a great ball by Unadkat that castled him.

Following his dismissal Vaibhaw Rawal came to the crease and was undone in a single delivery as he departed for a golden duck. Then came to the crease one of the most talked about batter in this series, Yash Dhull. He too couldn’t pick up a jaffa by Unadkat and was dismissed LBW on his very first ball.

As a result, Jaydev Unadkat picked up a hattrick in the very first over of the tournament to announce his return to the tournament.

This was all for Unadkat though, he was hungry for more, and went on to pick up a fifer in just 5 overs.
