PV Sindhu in Arctic Open 2023: An Easy Win Against Former World Champion Nozomi Okuhara

A heartwarming performance by PV Sindhu in the Arctic Open 2023 against Nozomi Okuhara. PV and Okuhara, both former world badminton champions struggled to come back on the court after injury, somewhere the difference had to come. 

The match lasted for 33 minutes in total, with a scorecard of 21-13, 21-6. The game started with the slow approach of Sindhu, with a score of 0-4. But there was no delay by Sindhu to come into action again. With the consistent points on PV Sindhu’s side of the court, it was not difficult to tell the winner of the game.

Game 1 started with a slow approach. Sindhu gradually takes control of the game. While in game 2 starts with errors in Okuhara’s racket, summed up in a defeat. The shots lost their positions on the other side of the court, with a score of 10-9.

“Remembering multiple of our epic matches over the years”, Sindhu posted on Instagram. “Times can be tough, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel my gal. Keep fighting, I’ll keep cheering for you.” 

Definitely, when it was difficult to find the light in the tunnel, Sindhu crossed it and grabbed it on the other side. 

Sindhu’s next match will be the Super 500 event against Wen Chi Hsu of Chinese Taipei, whom she defeated at the Hangzhou Asian Games. 

Progressing to the round 16 of Aakarshi Kashyap, who saved match points and defeated Lianne Tan of Germany with a score of 21-18, 20-22, 18-21.
