Ligue 1 champions PSG will sign Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich. The French club will pay around €48-50 million for the Centre-back.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player has already arrived in Paris, and is likely to sign his new contract at the club on Thursday. The French defender will return to his native country.
The 27-year-old ends his four-year spell with the Bundesliga Champions. However, before the transfer window, Hernandez was ‘untouchable’ by former Bayern directors.
But, the new directors have decided to cash in on him. The centre-back also struggled from an ACL injury in the 2022 World Cup, which ended his season.
PSG will sign Lucas Hernandez to bolster their defence
After Sergio Ramos departed from PSG and growing doubts over Kimpembe’s fitness, PSG needed to sign a defender. Bayern directors were clear with Hernandez’ camp, sign a new deal or leave the club this summer.
The former Atletico Madrid player decided to leave the club. Former Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic offered Hernandez a three-year deal. However, he was not interested.
The World Cup winner will soon become PSG’s next big signing of this summer. They have also secured the signing of Manuel Ugarte for €60 million from Sporting CP.
The French Centre-back has won Four Bundesliga titles, one Champions League title, a Super Cup, a Club World Cup, and one DFB Pokal, as well as a DFL Supercup comprise the list of honours during his time with the Bavarians.
Napoli’s Kim Min-jae will replace Lucas Hernandez
Bayern Munich will replace Lucas Hernandez with South Korean defender Kim Min-jae, who, is set to join the club from Napoli for €50 million.
Manchester United were leading the race to sign him. But now he will sign for the German side. Bayern have a five-year contract in place for Kim at the Allianz Arena.
After his brilliant season with Napoli, Kim was on the radar of many clubs, the centre-back was also pivotal for South Korea in the 2022 World Cup.
