Premier League: Liverpool leading race to sign World Cup winner Alexis MacAllister

Alexic MacCallister, a name that has been heard frequently since the end of the World Cup, is set to start a battle between Liverpool and Manchester City, as both of the English heavyweights will vie for him in the upcoming transfer window.

He has been in an outstanding form for Brighton since the World Cup and is eyed by various teams for his exceptional talent and impeccable dribbling skills.

Although he has been one of the driving forces behind Brighton’s dream run this season, the “Seagulls” are open to bids for the Argentine, if they receive a bid of 70 million pounds for the next season.

Speculations have arose that along with top flight English clubs, Italian team Juventus have also entered the race of grabbing him in the market. The “Reds” are frontrunner but it seems they might face a stiff competitor in Manchester City who would like to have a reinforcement in their midfield setup.

Midfield reinforcements to look for

Both the heavyweights of English football are looking to bolster their attack in their midfield play as Kalvin Phillips from City has struggled this season, not starting a game under Spanish boss Guardiola.

So, in case he leaves Alexis might be a valuable option. Similarly, Liverpool would look to have an extra body in the midfield as Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might leave as free agents next season.
