Organizers of Abu Dhabi T10 League condemn corruption reports against them
The T10 Sports Management — the organizers of the Abu Dhabi T10 league — has denied the report related to corruption practices and illegal activities in the league, saying that the competition is under any International Cricket Council (ICC) probe.
Notably, a Daily Mail report on January 7 said that the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) has received several reports regarding corrupt practices in the recent edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 which took place from November 23 to December 4, 2022.
T10 Sports Management open up about corruption reports
However, the T Ten Sports Management on Saturday issued a statement and denied the charges.
“As a responsible event owner, we host the tournament at a high-quality international stadium. We attract some of the world’s best players, while also developing local talent and employing international level ICC and ACC match officials and referees.”
“We contract the ICC to manage and investigate any allegations of corruption, when then fall under their scope to manage. We have not been notified on any anti-corruption issues and will continue to take the lead of the ICC”, the statement added.
The latest season (2022) of the Abu Dhabi T10 the sixth edition, organized by the T10 Sports Management, saw participation of some of the best T20 players around the globe. Kieron Pollard, Sikandar Raza, Wanindu Hasaranga in the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Dwayne Bravo are some of the notable names.
Defending champions Deccan Gladiators repeated history by stamping their authority in the Abu Dhabi T10 by recording a 37-run victory over New York Strikers at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium. Further, New York Strikers playing their inaugural edition, gave a tough fight to the experienced Gladiators.
