Matheus Fernandes Siqueira, born on June 30, 1998, in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro, is a Brazilian football sensation making waves with his remarkable skills as a central midfielder. Club Career

Fernandes began his football journey with Botafogo, where he honed his skills in the youth ranks. The breakthrough came in 2016 when he was called up for the pre-season with the main squad. However, it was under the guidance of manager Jair Ventura that Fernandes received his breakthrough, eventually making his senior debut in January 2017.

His performances for Botafogo caught the attention of Brazilian giants Palmeiras, and in December 2018, Fernandes made the switch to Sao Paulo. Despite facing stiff competition for playing time, he showcased his versatility and tenacity whenever called upon. The 2018 season was a standout period for him, featuring in 32 league matches and winning the Campeonato Carioca. In a significant move, Fernandes joined FC Barcelona in January 2020, a dream come true for the young Brazilian. Despite limited opportunities with the first team, he made his mark, including a memorable appearance in the UEFA Champions League. However, on June 29, 2021, Barcelona terminated Fernandes’ contract, leading to his return to Palmeiras. He signed a new contract with Palmeiras on July 9, 2021, lasting until December 2025.
